AI Chat Exporter privacy policy

AI Chat Exporter is not affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic. It does not collect, sell or share your conversations or browsing data, and contains no analytics, telemetry or ads.

Conversation content

When you click Export on chatgpt.com or claude.ai, the extension reads the visible conversation from the page and converts it to a file in your browser. The conversation is not sent to the developer or to any third party. For PDF export, the content is handed to an extension page through chrome.storage.session (in memory, cleared when the browser closes) and removed as soon as that page reads it.

Data stored on your device

• A counter of successful exports and a flag recording whether a one-time thank-you message was shown (chrome.storage.local). It never leaves your device.

Exported files are saved through your browser's normal download; the extension does not keep a copy.

Network requests and payments

The extension makes no network requests. It is free and processes no payment data. The optional "Support development" link simply opens a page of this website in a new tab.

Permissions

• storage: print hand-off and the local export counter.
• Access to chatgpt.com and claude.ai: to show the Export button and read the conversation you export.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated.
